I’m a former Head of Marketing, with over 16 years' experience working in the education sector. I’ve also worked for the BBC and hold the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Marketing. I understand the importance of strong communication, practical planning and opportunities for growth. I specialise in creative ideas, copywriting and online campaigns.
My skills include strategic and targeted marketing, social media, project management, PR and new business. I am used to running integrated campaigns, including TV ads, radio, press and public relations along with social media to generate maximum impact. In education I’ve delivered strong recruitment strategies, built and launched an “Experience site”, pioneered TV advertising, video emails, added fun new interactive video concepts like “choose your own adventure”, 360° tours and augmented reality in prospectuses and paired geo-mobile marketing with outdoor campaigns.
In my work for The Association of Colleges in the Eastern Region I produced and launched the first ever UK Online Careers Fair. Other projects I managed included The Skills Show Experience, Skills Competitions CPD, ESF Flexible Fund (including creating Step Forward) and supporting Team East. I was responsible for the Marketing Network and delivered specialist training.
As an Associate for The Association of Colleges in the Eastern Region I project managed #PasstheTorch (funded by the Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills, through the Skills Funding Agency; managed by ACER and delivered by ACER and its partners AOSEC and AoC SW) and I delivered marketing, PR and social media for the project. We exceeded Pledge targets by over 500%; achieved twitter impressions of 86.0K; had estimated press coverage views of 97.3K with social shares of 1.02K.
I’ve had the privilege to work directly for a number of colleges, one of the UK’s newest universities and leading independent schools - coupled with working for other clients in the education and commercial sectors.
